Packaging Sustainability & PPWR Compliance (Regulation EU 2025/40)

Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste, known as PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation), introduces a new European framework for the design, use, and management of packaging throughout the entire product life cycle. As of August 12, 2026, the regulation provides for new obligations for economic operators, with a focus on the compliance of the materials used with the new European requirements.

COROB, following the corporate approach of the parent company GRACO, has undertaken the necessary formalities to ensure the progressive adaptation to the applicable requirements of the PPWR, with reference to the collection of technical documentation, conformity assessment and management of the information necessary for the labeling of packaging.

Labelling
Below you can find the document that defines the types and environmental labelling of packaging, based on Decision 97/129/EC of the European Commission – relating to packaging materials and of a mandatory nature – implemented in Italy with Legislative Decree 116/2020.

Consumer information requirements and sustainability
Article 55 of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) establishes several consumer information requirements that became effective on August 12, 2026. These requirements include providing customers with information on the prevention and management of packaging waste, reuse opportunities, proper separate collection and disposal practices, and the environmental impacts associated with the improper disposal of packaging materials. At the following link https://www.graco.com/us/en/about-graco/sustainability.html you can find these requirements met in the Graco Sustainability webpage.
